The comfort zone isn’t a safe haven, it’s a dangerous trap

It kills our potential if we stay too long because growth and opportunity don’t live there.

So why do we stay? Because the unknown feels risky.

Familiar feels safer than the possibility of failure. The more familiar we feel, the more we want it.

And that’s the trap: the longer we stay in our comfort zone, the harder it becomes to leave, and the bigger cost to our future.

The good news? The door isn’t locked.

Staying in the comfort zone is a choice.

So is stepping out.

The key to avoiding this trap is to never have both feet firmly in the comfort zone to start with.

Keep picking small challenges at work that intrigue you and make it your mission to solve them.

This keeps you safe, and allows to rest when you need it.

The comfort zone might feel safe, but it’s a slow erosion of your potential if you stay too long.

The best opportunities don’t wait for you inside the walls of your comfort zone.

They’re outside waiting for you to show up.
